The mission of the Pittsburgh Jewish Community Scorecard is to make community performance more visible to the general Jewish public in Pittsburgh and to provide information that will help improve communal decision making.
Making community performance more visible will encourage participation and involvement from the people of all ages and backgrounds that together make up Pittsburgh’s Jewish community.
Community leaders and grassroots activists will be able to highlight areas where performance is improving or declining — providing opportunities for positive recognition and reinforcement as well as early warning about areas that need attention.
The Scorecard is a tool to focus the resources and energy of the organized Jewish community on actions that can help Pittsburgh become a more thriving, vibrant, and engaged Jewish community.
The Scorecard is not a “report card” for each agency, organization, institution, or program, but a tool for assessing the impact of the collective effort of the entire organized Jewish community on the quality of Jewish life in Pittsburgh.
